Northland Alert Subscription
The City of Hibbing uses an emergency notification system to alert the public about emergencies and other important community news.
Users can sign up to receive emergency notices by phone, text and/or email.
To receive notices, you must subscribe and provide the contact information for which platform you wish to be notified. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
Northland Alert is done in partnership with the St. Louis County and cities of Duluth, Hermantown, and Virginia. On the subscription page you also will have the option to sign up for notices from these cities.

IPAWS: Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (no subscription needed)
Northland Alert also has an emergency notification system that DOES NOT require a subscription.
In the event of dangerous situations requiring immediate resident action such as an order to evacuate or seek safe shelter, a text message will be sent to all cell phones within range of the emergency situation.
Examples of these notifications
- Severe weather
- Amber Alerts
- Evacuation orders
These alerts make use of cell towers to identify all cell phone users within the affected area at the time of the emergency. For questions or to learn more, visit Northland Alerts Website powered by Everbridge.
